CONSULTA DE ORTODONCIA ESPECIALIZADA EN PREVENCIÓN Y ALTERACIONES DE LA OCLUSIÓN

    ABOUT US

Ortoface is a dental orthodontic clinic that was founded in 1992, with an emphasis in the treatment of patients with facial malformation, skeletal and/or syndromes. We work in a multidisciplinary manner in coordination with surgeons, paediatricians, and dentists, giving aesthetic and optimal functional results.

Our philosophy: When a patient comes to our clinic, the main objective is to improve the life and the aesthetic of one’s smile attaining a harmonious and symmetric face. This will always be the ultimate goal while having good functional occlusion with the correct dental health and in the gums.

    HOW WE WORKS

We believe that orthodontic treatment goes beyond simply placing your teeth or getting a nice smile. Orthodontics has repercussions on the child’s facial growth, on the function of the chewing muscles, on his health and on his smile, often improving the patient’s self-esteem.

The duration of orthodontic treatment is of vital importance to us, always making it as short as possible. It is for this reason that we often delay its initiation until almost all milk teeth have been changed. However, if a malocclusion can be treated before it is more severe, we will anticipate it thus obtaining a better growth of the jaws and avoiding in many occasions the extraction of permanent teeth. In adults, the devices are more comfortable for the patient and less visible to others. (more…)

    TREATMENTS

    PREVENTIVE ORTHODONTICS

Preventive orthodontics can permit a conducive environment for permanent teeth to erupt inhibiting undesirable environmental factors or negative external factors that may interfere and produce a malocclusion.

Under this scope of preventive orthodontics are those procedures that promote the normal development of occlusion through timely correction of carious lesions, application of topical fluoride, eliminating habits or placing space maintainers to preserve the correct positions adjacent teeth.

The therapeutic approach of an orthodontist focuses on the act “before” that could alter the normal occlusal arrangement and conserving it from any other alteration.

    INTERCEPTIVE ORTHODONTICS

    INTERCEPTIVE ORTHODONTICS

Interceptive orthodontics applies when prevention procedures fail and an alteration in the occlusion is detected during the mixed dentition period between 8 and 11 years old when primary teeth and permanent teeth coexist until all teeth are completely changed.

The ultimate goal is to restore normal occlusion before all permanent teeth have fully erupted. Intervening the malocclusion, we intercept and correct the positions of misaligned teeth or altered function. At this time of occlusal problems such as crossbite development, lack of space for normal eruption and certain problems in skeletal growth, such as mandibular prognathism, should be treated by the orthodontist placing active devices that correct the altered growth and they establish more favourable conditions for the future facial and occlusal conditions development.

    CORRECTIVE ORTHODONTICS

    CORRECTIVE ORTHODONTICS

The absence of signs of malocclusion in the mixed dentition or delayed by any alteration in the occlusion causes the orthodontist to intervene in permanent dentition, the last stage of tooth development. At this stage, crowding is the most obvious symptom, requiring treatment with dental braces, suitable method for correcting teeth malposition and lead to a more stable and favourable situation.

Corrective orthodontics offers numerous benefit: by an aesthetic part to obtain an attractive smile. To restore proper function with a better distribution of masticatory force, facilitating the balance of wear between the teeth is important. Moreover, thanks to the excellent alignment obtained, it is possible to make a long-term improvement in the oral health (teeth and gums) facilitating brushing and making it more effective.

    ADULT TREATMENTS: INVISIBLE ORTHODONTICS

The invisible orthodontics with aesthetic aligners (transparent splints) is a method that corrects the malocclusions without the need to use conventional metal/aesthetic orthodontic appliances.

The aligners are custom manufactured after making a correct diagnosis. Secondarily they are placed by the patient for easy and simple sequentially and must be removed for eating and brushing teeth. The period in which readers are referred for consultation to replace the old aligner is usually from 3 to 4 weeks, so getting the duration of treatment with invisible orthodontics is shorter, and may vary for each patient, but the average is between 10 and 15 months.

    LINGUAL ORTHODONTICS

    ADULT TREATMENTS: LINGUAL ORTHODONTICS

Lingual orthodontics is to place all the brackets on the inside of the teeth, being free of attachments visible surfaces. The result is equal to that obtained through conventional orthodontics, which is a new alternative that resolves the problems of bad dental positioned teeth without sacrificing aesthetic s. We are able to achieve a beautiful smile in a healthy mouth at any age. This treatment origin is due to its aesthetic s, the first choice, ideal for people who refuse to use visible devices.

    COSMETIC DENTISTRY

    ADULT TREATMENTS: COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Ortoface cares the image of our patients. Technological advances have allowed, when aesthetics are important, the use of more comfortable and more aesthetic brackets such as sapphire materials. Ceramic brackets blend in with teeth, resembling colour and helping the patient to smile without complexes, so this type of fixed appliances usually chosen by adult patients, where aesthetic s is a priority also allowing achieve a perfect smile fashion most invisible and natural as possible.

Dr. Jesus Fernandez Sanchez is a Graduate from the University of Complutense of Madrid in medicine and surgery, and three years later in Dentistry. His first professional years were centred on the immediate implant rehabilitation under the guidance of Dr. Victor Sada Moreno, an oral Maxilofacial surgeon and Leonard Linkow in NY.

He then completed a postgraduate master program at the University of Sao Paulo in Orthodontics. In those years of studying, patients with anomalies and craniofacial malformations peaked his interest, especially those affected by cleft lip palate. His doctorate thesis in Odontology (1996) is about surgical / orthodontic treatment of fissured patients describes the research and clinical concern in this malformation, which remains in force today.
